Chivu started his professional career in football at CSM Resita in 1996, where he stayed until 1998, when he moved to University of Craiova. He was remarked by the famous Dutch club Ajax in 1999 he signed for them. At Ajax he proved to be a valuable player, becoming the captain of the team in 2001, and won the Dutch championship in 2002. He impressed from the start and managed to score a goal at the first matches played in Serie A on September 14, 2003, in a match that won with 5-0 against Brescia Calcio team. At AS Roma he spent four years, where manages to win a single trophy, and after the financial problems faced by Romanian club, Chivu realized that is time for separation, and this will be a great chance for him to evolve in a more stronger team, and to help his club that was in a delicate financially situation. Cristi Chivu is a wonderful example of a veritable football player, and also a very handsome man.
