Most Christians recognize the necessity of the sacraments - sacred actions that must inform the believers of God's grace. Orthodox and Catholics recognize seven sacraments: Baptism, Chrismation (Catholics - confirmation), communion, penance (confession), Holy Unction, the marriage, the priesthood. Christianity has a large number of directions, sects, denominations. The main directions are Orthodoxy, Catholicism, Protestantism, Nestorianism. Orthodoxy is divided into a large number of local churches. By the number of its followers, Christianity exceeds twice the second-influenced world religion - Islam.
