Christianity
Christianity is the largest world religion by number of followers. It appeared in Palestine as a result of the activity of Jesus Christ and his closest followers. The Christianity was spread very quickly, especially in the first five centuries of our era. The main part of Christians worships Jesus Christ as the second person of the Divine Trinity, God in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. The Old and the New Testaments are recognized as Scriptures. The main part of the Christians believe in the Incarnation, the Cross sacrifice of Jesus Christ, his martyr's death for the sins of people, the resurrection of Jesus Christ and his Ascension into heaven, the future second coming of Christ, the future resurrection of the dead and eternal life after the resurrection. Most Christians recognize the necessity of the sacraments - sacred actions that must inform the believers of God's grace. Orthodox and Catholics recognize seven sacraments: Baptism, Chrismation (Catholics - confirmation), communion, penance (confession), Holy Unction, the marriage, the priesthood. Christianity has a large number of directions, sects, denominations. The main directions are Orthodoxy, Catholicism, Protestantism, Nestorianism. Orthodoxy is divided into a large number of local churches. By the number of its followers, Christianity exceeds twice the second-influenced world religion - Islam.
