Hinduism is the world largest religion by number of followers (about 95% of all Hindus - India). Hinduism was formed in the 1st millennium AD in the process of the development of the Vedic religion and Brahmanism. The basis of Hinduism is the doctrine of reincarnation of souls (samsara), which happens in accordance with the law of retribution (karma) for the virtuous or bad behavior, determined by the supreme worship of the gods (Vishnu or Shiva) or their lifetimes and the observance of caste household rules. Religious ceremonies are performed in the churches, local or home altars in sacred places. In Hinduism the sacred one are such animals as cow, Snake River (Ganges), plants (lotus), etc. Hinduism forms an idea of the versatility and universality of the supreme deity. In modern Hinduism, there are two trends: Vaishnavism (Vishnu worship as the supreme god) and Shaivism (Shiva worship as Almighty God).
